KEEP THE SESSION MOVING

Less head-scratching. More headbanging.

Find the manual, check the release limits, or send a useful report. Include your version, audio device, driver and DAW—or say that you are using the standalone app.

Start with the manual.

Follow the instrument, tone, cabinet, effects and output workflow. Precision EQ also has its own How to Use guide inside the editor.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Available now, with clear boundaries.

Public creator profiles, 200 factory Tone Cards, downloads and references are available. Obsidian Void currently offers explicitly server-managed support conversations with consent and settings-only card sharing.

Website/app Tone Card transfers are available in builds with Profile & Transfer. If your installed build does not include it, use local Tone Card import/export. Audio features work without connecting. Cryptfire 8 and Cryosteel 8 are Octet artwork identities only; their dedicated selectable speaker voices await a native update and are not in the 2.4.10 installer.

PROFILE & TRANSFER

One profile for your Tone Cards.

Obsidian Wraith is free, with optional donations. Connecting your app enables Tone Card transfers only; it does not unlock audio features. Your website profile is where you manage your cards and connected devices.

  1. Start in the app. Open Settings → Profile & Transfer and choose Connect Profile. Leave the app open while it displays its connection code.
  2. Sign in on the website. Use the browser page opened by the app. Choose the website account where you want your Tone Cards saved; your password stays in the browser.
  3. Approve your own device. Check that the code and device match your app, confirm the checkbox, and choose Approve connection. Never approve a code sent by someone else. If the code expired, start a new connection from the app.
  4. Return to the app. Wait for Profile Connected, then choose Refresh. The list includes all built-in website Tone Cards, public community cards and your own saved cards. The updated preview displays the full available count; arrows continue through the collection.
  5. Check your login. In builds with Verify Login, choose it to confirm the connected website account and refresh your avatar and band banner. The banner sits above and behind your avatar. Your band must be set to visible in Edit profile. Login verified describes the current connection, not a public profile badge. Signing out or losing verification hides the artwork; audio keeps working.
  6. Upload a tone. Choose Upload Current Tone. The website saves a private Tone Card; publish it from your profile only if you want others to see it.
  7. Download a tone. Select a card in the app and choose Download Selected, or use its website download button. Save the file, then open Local Tone Card Vault to review and import it. Downloading does not automatically change your current rig. Only your own private cards are included; unavailable or moderated community cards cannot be downloaded.
  8. Disconnect when needed. Use Sign out / Cancel in the app or Connected apps in your website profile. A disconnected or expired device must be approved again before transferring cards. Local audio is unaffected.

Tone Cards contain settings, not third-party plugins, NAM captures or IR audio files. Keep those files locally and back up your current tone before importing. If a transfer fails, check the signed-in account, refresh the session, and report the app version and error message—never send your password or connection token.

QUICK ANSWERS

A few things worth knowing.

Is Obsidian Wraith free?

Yes. Download free or donate on the official itch.io page. Both realms and updates are included. Donations do not unlock features.

What is profile connection for?

Website/app profile connection is only for Tone Card transfer. Browsing is public; saving, transferring and participating use your website sign-in to protect your account and content. Audio features work without connecting.

Do I need a DAW?

No. The Windows standalone app can be used independently. The VST3 requires a compatible Windows x64 VST3 host such as REAPER or Cubase; test your specific host version and audio interface.

Is every DAW tested for 2.4.10?

No. Isolated installer lifecycle checks are not a broad DAW/audio-interface certification. Test your own setup before a critical session.

Why is the installer unsigned?

This testing package is not code-signed. Verify the official source and published SHA-256. Cancel unexpected warnings or mismatches and contact support; do not disable security protections.

Will the tuning menu retune my recorded sound?

No. Soul Engine maps the instrument profile, and tuner calibration changes the reference. Neither is an audio pitch-shifter.

Is Surround a 5.1 or Atmos renderer?

No. It is stereo-compatible placement and signal-derived space.

Should I turn on the 1–10 Hz SUB bank?

Usually no. It is an experimental infrasonic lab, initially off. Boosts can waste headroom and stress playback hardware.

Do Tone Cards include NAM or IR files?

No. Exports reference separate capture files and preserve output-safety ownership. Share source audio/captures only with the required rights.

Is macOS or AAX available?

No verified macOS installer or AAX package is offered in this release. The current download is Windows x64 standalone plus VST3.

WRAITH VIEW / SEPARATE SESSION TOOLS

Visuals when you want them.

The studio-light switch on Wraith View turns its visuals on or off while instrument audio remains active. View/session settings do not belong in the new Tone Cards.

Local MP4 saving is an experimental Windows preview. Camera and Stream/Both transmission are not implemented as complete output modes. Keep that distinction in mind when reading older demos.

FROM THE ARCHIVE

A look at the earlier workstation.

The existing demo predates 2.4.10. It is a historical introduction, not proof of the latest interface, EQ or compatibility.
